OWRF Scholarship Recipients for 2023-24 Announced

The Oregon Water Resources Foundation (OWRF) is pleased to announce the OWRF Scholarship Recipients for 2023-2024:

  • Tayleur Baker, from Burns, Oregon, is studying Agriculture Science and Agriculture Communications at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. “In the future, I would like to become an advocate for the agriculture industry and be a voice for those in the field. I hope to use my voice to empower others and look forward to working with youth and showing them how they can change the world. I believe that we all have the power to change the world in some way, and I am ecstatic to do so through investing in others. “
  • Isabel D’Acquisto, from Central Point, Oregon, is studying Agriculture Science at Corban University in Salem, Oregon. “Isabel is motivated by her genuine love and passion for working with youth in agriculture. It is through this passion that she is pursuing a career as an ag teacher and FFA Advisor, so that she can empower youth in Oregon agriculture—they are the future of our industry!”
  • Maleah Crisp, from Eagle Point, Oregon, is studying Animal Science at Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma. “I developed a passion for agriculture at a young age and I always knew I wanted to become involved in livestock production. My college courses have allowed me to explore more of my passion and I always want to increase my knowledge of agriculture and pass that knowledge on to future generations.”

We are pleased to help support these three future leaders in irrigated agriculture and look forward to seeing what they accomplish.

About OWRF

The OWRF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission to support and provide educational opportunities related to water and irrigated agriculture.  The foundation’s primary focus is a scholarship program to assist students pursuing water, agriculture, or other natural resources related fields (currently undergraduate level only). Scholarship awards range from $5,000 to $2,000 and will be offered annually as funds allow.

The OWRF scholarship program is in honor of past leaders and members of the Oregon Water Resources Congress (OWRC), a trade association of irrigation districts and other agricultural suppliers, who contributed their time and wisdom in service of the irrigated agricultural community in Oregon. The scholarship program will continue the legacy of these leaders by helping support the next generation of leaders in irrigated agriculture.

Charitable donations to the OWRF are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. For more information, or to make a donation, visit: https://www.owrc.org/owrf/
